Jumping Fox (first project)

Project information: 

For this project, I will be creating a game for children with disabilities. This means that the game has to be easy to play and very accessible.

Probably one of the most important requirements for this project is that the game be made solely for entertainment. It should not be educational or include any form of real "purpose" other than having fun.

I have decided to make a game similar to Super Mario but much more accessible. The goal of my game is to avoid the holes in the ground and make your way to the end of the level.

To keep with the requirements, the game will be limited to just one button input, which will be the jumping input.

Game updates:

Update game version 2 : 

• Background music
• Jump sound effect
• Esc key to exit game
• basic loading screen 

Update game version 3: 

• update to loading screen

Update game version 3.2 (no major updates just small changes):

• Better level spawn points
• Better next level point locations
• Better "cave" level background
• Level indicator
• loading screen "how to play" instructions

• start-up, menu and loading screen update

Update game version 4:

• added pick up items with item counter

• level changes

Update game version 5: 

• complete level overhaul
  • level 1-3 : easy (jump indicators, no death)
  • level 4-7: medium (no jump indicator, few death spots)
  • level 8-10: hard
• audio muted by default (press m key to unmute/mute)
• end game screen
• decreased jump height

Update game version 6:

• complete start menu overhaul
• loading screen goes to next level with key press instead of time
• bug and glitch fixes in levels

Update game version 6.1:

• Change to the win screen at the end of each level
• Some very small level changes

Update game version 6.2:

• Resolution glitch fix
• Press R to restart the current level
• fixed pause screen glitch
